'Lugger'
Red Sailboat

Twin Masted Lugger

Reach back in time to the days of dipping luggers, craft that would outsail and outrun the Revenue Cutters. A time of oars, sail, tarred rope and canvas, of forgotten skills and legend.

With its revised 'high peak lugg', this boat is more practical and more easily handled than its traditional predecessors. If fact Sri Lankan Fisheries have a fleet of 30 boats of this design working in the Indian Ocean.

The hand lay up method used to construct the hulls, has proved to be the most reliable way of ensuring an exact lay up to meet the specifications laid down. The traditional use of heavy timber sectioning applied in fishing boat construction, over many generations, has no better. Our principle has always been strength and durability above all other considerations.

Although we work from standardised plans and drawings, all the vessels are individually tailored to a high degree, to suit as near possible the exact requirements of our clients.

In conclusion, we cannot guarantee the conditions in which you sail, but we can assure you of the very best materials; attention; skill and expertise that has gone into the construction of our fishing boats for the last 30 years.

The Cornish dipping lugg has come home for the serious sailor. We provide the boat - the imagination is yours.
