- Treeve DS18

The Treeve DS18 is a development of the successful Cove Boat 16 and provides a natural link between this and the DS20.

DS18 Mould construction in progress

As such it combines the heavy load carrying capacity of the 16 with the proven sea-keeping of the 20.

The designer Denis Swire C.Eng, FRINA has given the DS18 a soft forefoot, a clean sweep across the full bilges and ample deadwood aperture, enabling a pos

itive grip for the propeller and the extra wide 1.85m (6' 2") Transom is very suited to net carrying.

The DS18 has also been DS18 GA Drawingrecognised as the first boat of its type to be totally environmentally dual purpose in terms of propulsion, being able to sail at its maximum design speed whether driven by motor or sail.

The Treeve DS18 has established itself as a reliable and easily driven heavy duty workboat. The shallow 0.6m (2') draught enables the DS18 to operate from drying harbours, beaches and coves, while the ability to use minimum engine sizes as low as 15hp gives significant savings in fuel costs.

The DS18 is available in 4 versions with one motor boat. The wide and spacious 2.2m (7'2") full beam enables a deck area of 75m2 (800) square feet, fish hold capacity of 3.2m2 (112cu ft) and a carrying capacity of three tons. The MFV version can be fitted with long bilge keels for difficult launching conditions or the shorter standard bilge keel for harbour use. When dried out the DS18 will stand almost upright. There are 3 cabin options.

Full forward traditional Cornish
Forward offset;
Aft pillbox style.

The Treeve DS18 is fitted with our standard heavy duty keel irons made from 3/8" plate and " lugs. Timber keels for beach launching may be added. There is ample room forward of the inboard diesel engine to fit an hydraulic pump and equipment. The deck may be self draining or loose board depending on preference. The steering may be either underhung steel semi balanced or traditional transom hung timber rudders.
