WEEKENDER
The masts may be stepped either through the deck to step on the hog in the traditional way or in the weekend layout on a tabernacle mounted above the deck. Steering is by a traditional timber transom hung rudder. The weekender layout has a short cabin top forward of the cockpit, and will take two berths forward one each side and a small cooker on a locker port aft by the bulk head with a sink unit with water carried in a plastic container underneath.
A head may also be installed under a seat to starboard. The head room in the forward cabin is 5'6". The bunks are 6'6" in length the cabin is entered via steps and a sliding hatch over double cabin doors. If an internal diesel engine is fitted, additional ballast will be obtained by a tank which is filled with sea water and discharged by valves on launching and recovering the vessel by trailer on the trailing version.
Thwarts have been mentioned these may be fitted, although strictly they are not necessary if the hull is fully ribbed. The Lloyd's scantlings (measurements) for ribs, which are not normally fitted in a pleasure boat of this size, enables the hull to be rigid enough not to require further stiffening by the use of transverse thwarts. All hulls may be fitted with a watertight deck or cockpit. Side benches may also be fitted port and starboard of the aft seat, with additional locker space if required.
In conclusion, we cannot guarantee the conditions in which you sail, but we can assure you of the very best materials; attention; skill and expertise that has gone into the construction of our fishing boats for the last 30 years.
The hand lay up method used to construct the hulls, has proved to be the most reliable way of insuring an exact lay up to meet the specifications laid down. The traditional use of heavy timber sectioning applied in fishing boat construction, over many generations, has no better. Our principle has always been strength and durability above all other considerations.
Although we work from standardised plans and drawings, all the vessel are individually tailored to a high degree, to suit as near possible the exact requirements of our clients.
